The under-pressure manager stated he did not fear dismissal, claiming, “We are really close to a turnaround,” in the wake of moving dangerously close to the chopping block with a comprehensive loss to Rangers.

He highlights the fact his team can perform strongly for 45 minutes at a time. Indeed, if not for wastefulness in front of goal they would have been better than 1-0 up. “There were positives except the fact that we haven’t scored our chances,” he said. “I acknowledge that we lost, but it's important to stay objective.

“The level we had at certain moments was of top quality. This is the reality. And I would not say that if it was untrue. But that’s why, when it comes to wins, I noted we've seen this before. Which is why I feel we are nearly there to things turning around. Right now: small things.”

“I saw plenty of positives that we did, as was the case today. But now it’s about performing for 90 minutes. My message would not be if I didn't believe it. This is why I firmly believe we will manage to get back on track.”

Röhl’s Cautious Outlook

Rangers manager was cautious about a serious challenge despite what felt like a landmark win. “We take it game by game, then we can gradually build something here,” he said. “The faith in the squad is immense.”
