China Punishes Infamous Myanmar Scam Mafia Members to Capital Punishment

A China's judicial body has sentenced several top figures of an infamous Myanmar organized crime group to execution as Beijing persists in its campaign on scam operations in Southeast Asian region.

In all, twenty-one Bai family individuals and collaborators were convicted of fraud, homicide, injury and various offenses, said a official document published on the judicial portal.

This clan is one of a small number of mafias that gained influence in the last two decades and changed the poor backwater town of Laukkaing into a wealthy base of casinos and red-light districts.
